Veteran journalist and television anchor Jane Pauley is known for her 13-year tenure as co-host of NBC's Today Show and her 12 years as co-host of Dateline NBC. She also hosted The Jane Pauley Show, which debuted in daytime television in 2004.
One of the most influential members of a pioneering generation of female broadcasters, Pauley began her career at Today in 1976, when she was 25. As an AARP ‘Ambassador’, Pauley has returned to Today with a monthly series called Your Life Calling.
A member of the Broadcast and Cable Hall of Fame, Pauley has been honored with multiple Emmy Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Award for outstanding achievement, the Radio and Television News Directors Association’s Paul White Award for lifetime contribution to electronic journalism, the Gracie Allen Award for outstanding achievement by an individual from American Women in Radio and Television, and the Walter Cronkite Award for excellence in journalism from Arizona State University. She has also written a memoir, Skywriting: A Life Out of the Blue, which was a New York Times bestseller.
Pauley serves on the board of directors of The Children's Health Fund, The Mind Trust and The Jane Pauley Community Health Center. She is also on the Leadership Board of the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT, as well as co-chair of the Ambassador’s Council of Freedom from Hunger.
Pauley and her husband Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau live in New York City. They are the parents of three grown children.
